DetailsDescription:
My monitoring system checks ssh connectivity via IPv4 and IPv6. If both connections are established before either of both is terminated I get this in my log: systemd[1]: Started OpenSSH Per-Connection Daemon ([::1]:60865). systemd[1]: Starting OpenSSH Per-Connection Daemon ([::1]:60865)... systemd[1]: Started OpenSSH Per-Connection Daemon (127.0.0.1:41286). systemd[1]: Starting OpenSSH Per-Connection Daemon (127.0.0.1:41286)... sshd[2854]: Connection closed by ::1 [preauth] sshd[2855]: fatal: ssh_dispatch_run_fatal: Connection reset by peer [preauth] The last entry is logged with priority 2/critical. That makes my log analysis go crazy... This issue is fixed in upstream commit 671eb9676cc78de450e68efae5443a3be649da89 ("refactor ssh_dispatch_run_fatal() to use sshpkt_fatal()"). This applies cleanly to openssh version 6.8p1 (except the svn id stuff...). https://github.com/openssh/openssh-portable/commit/671eb967 Additional info: openssh 6.8p1-2 |
