Description:
Xorg crashes core dump from some reason using todays last verison. 1.17.1-5. I cannot really reproduce this, but it happens many times per day, so this is critical for me, because I use this as a production notebook. Additional info: * package version(s) xorg-server 1.17.1 but I built it here using options=(debug !strip) in the PKGBUILD file - but it happend also before this is just for you to have debuging symbols. * config and/or log files etc. Attached. Just ask, I will provide all information you may need. And I will try patches for you, if you can give me hints. |

Here they are.
.xsession-errors.old (13.3 KiB)
You have to know, sometimes its emacs, sometimes its chromium, sometimes firefox, sometimes libreoffice. So this I think cannot be the real reason for the core dump?

I can more or less reproduce it by resizing the frames in 'git gui' but it also occurs in LibreOffice and Emacs.
I'm running on an Intel i5-2500k and use a Radeon R9 290 graphics card with xf86-video-radeon.
Xorg.0.log (71.9 KiB)
But xorg-server-1.17.2-2 no problem.

1.17.2-3 crashes.
I am using ATI Radeon HD 5450 with xf86-video-ati 1:7.5.0-2.
The patch in release 3 is related to glamor and prime support, if you don't use glamor, problem is elsewhere.
You should open a new bugreport and you should also include a backtrace of the failure:
