You added back --release-channel=beta and added a totally useless epoch. What gives?

The epoch was needed to make pacman accept that removing "_beta.5" was not a downgrade.

"--release-channel=beta" slipped in by a mistake when copying over / checking out the PKGBUILD to pkgbuild.com for building. Fixing now.
