At first, I thought I remembered reading somewhere that gnome-audio was replaced by gnome-media, but that does not seem to be the case. Please, someone correct me if I am wrong.

gnome-audio is the package that installs the user interface .wav files (such as the annoying GNOME start-up sound, etc.).

I installed GNOME using 'pacman -S gnome', and you're right - the gnome-audio package did not get installed. gnome-media did get installed, but after a search of my system, the user interface sound files were not there. I searched pacman, using 'pacman -Ss gnome-audio', but it was not there.

So, it appears one can add this from:
ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/sources/gnome-audio/2.0/gnome-audio-2.0.0.tar.gz.

It still seems to be the current gnome-audio package, even though most of GNOME is up to 2.4.2.

I have not dowloaded the file to see if this must be compiled, or if it's just all the .wav files compressed into a tarball.

Xentac suggested I report this as a missing GNOME package.
