DetailsDescription: Enormous big latency with M-Audio MIDI interface
Additional info: last kernel, logs and dmesg output seems to be ok. The driver is snd-usb-audio. Interface name: M-Audio Midisport 2x2 Anniversary edition. The latency between I press a key on a MIDI-keyboard and the message arrives timidity is about 5 sec. If I reconnect the cables, the latency can change from 5 sec to 3 sec, or 0.1 sec. But to 90% of all my tries result in a ~3-5 sec latency. I tried it on my older laptop (kernel 2.6.32 from Ubuntu 10.04) and it works! I think it's a regression. Steps to reproduce: connect M-Audio Midisport 2x2 Anniversary Edition to an USB port, connect an MIDI-keyboard to it. Run timidity server, connect the both with an aconnect tool. Try to play something. |
