pkgname=foobar
weak_conflicts=("linux>3.19" "linux<3.19")

With a normal conflicts:

1) Upgrading to a new version of Linux will offer to remove foobar.

2) Installing an old version of foobar will offer to remove Linux.

I want a weaker version of conflicts where only the first offer happens. Install an old version of foobar and pacman simply says no, just as it does on depends.

Is there some reason why there is no inequality version operator for depends like linux!=3.19 or linux<>3.19?
This task depends upon

Why not just use "-d" when doing 2)?

pacman only understands =, >, <, <=, >=...
