Description:
Applications using webkitgtk (like Epiphany and Evolution) make a very poor font rendering on high resolution screens (e.g. Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro).

Affected package 2.4.8-2

There is a patched version in AUR repository:

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/webkitgtk-hidpi

which uses a patch provided by the webkit developers.

It would be great to include it in the official package because to build of webkitgtk-hipdi requires hours on an ordinary laptop.

A better solution would be to use newer stable releases such as webkit 2.6.x or 2.8.x, which have many new interesting features, but I guess that other applications require explicitly 2.4.x.

I really don't want to carry any downstream patches on a near-EOL package that aren't strictly necessary, especially not patches that big.

Please move away from webkitgtk 2.4 or convince upstream to include this patch in another release. 2.4.9 will probably happen eventually, but not necessarily with the hidpi patch.
