Description:
When I connect my Apple-Magic-Mouse on current Gnome 3.16 with xf86-input-libinput installed, Xorg crashes immediately and throws me to the GDM Login Screen. When I move the mouse also GDM shuts down and restarts constantly until I disconnect the Mouse.

On Wayland it does the same.

There are no problems with a generig USB-Mouse, only the Logitech and the Apple mices are crappy.

When I purge the xf86-input-libinput Package, Xorg is working without any glitches, but Wayland still crashes.

Additional info:
* libinput 0.13.0-2

There is a Bug-Report for Fedora with a Patch that semms to be solves the Problem:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1207574

Don't know if the Patch is Upstream or just a Fedora one....
*Fix crasher triggered by fake MT devices without ABS_X/Y (#1207574)

That should be the same two upstream commits we have applied to 0.13.0-2. Please check what could be missing or maybe your problem is something different. Check also  FS#44416 .

Hi Andreas, thanks for your reply.

You are right, the patches are already applied. Don't know whats going wrong.

The Wayland-Session is starting without any glitches until the moment I am moving the mouse.

Then libinput crashes with 'segfault at 8 ip 00007fb1abb38364 sp 00007ffc86c6dc50 error 4 in libinput.so.10.0.1'

I'm having exactly the same issue... I filed a bug to GDM here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=748023
But I think is libinput to blame...

Hi Luca,

maybe you could submit the Bug again for libinput, so that upstream thereof will notice something...
Comment by Andreas Radke (AndyRTR) - Monday, 09 November 2015, 14:09 GMT
We are now at libinput 1.1.0 - is this still an issue?
Comment by Luca Viggiani (lviggiani) - Monday, 09 November 2015, 20:31 GMT
It was fixed in a recente kernel update 4.1.7
