* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:Mouse is having wrong accelerations without xf86-input-libinput.

Suggestion: should not xf86-input-libinput be added as a dependency to gnome?

It may be true that gnome needs libinput to adjust the mouse settings, but that does not mean that gnome depends on libinput. Gnome already depends on xorg-server which you can see here then depends on a xf86-input-driver which can be provided either by xf86-input-evdev or xf86-input-libinput.
Users are able to choose whether they want to use the legacy xf86-input-evdev or xf86-input-libinput. The Gnome page on the Arch Wiki already instructs the user to use xf86-input-libinput.

Scimmia is saying that if Gnome specifically requests it we should require libinput. Will put this on my todo list to follow up on.

I won't add dependencies for xf86-input-libinput on gnome-settings-daemon or gnome-control-center for several reasons:
- users are free to choose their mouse and keyboard driver and are free to configure it the way they want
- gnome-settings-daemon and gnome-control-center run fine on Wayland, I don't want to add an unneeded dependency on Xorg components for this
