Description:
Elantech touchpad does not work with the latest gdm (with wayland).

Much time has passed since this bug was reported. Can you please give us an update if this is still an issue for you? If it is still an issue, which input driver are you using? GDM now uses Wayland which only supports libinput. Please make sure you have libinput installed and also xf86-input-libinput.

I don't think this is a bug, xf86-input-libinput and libinput need to be installed for mice to work in GDM, Wayland is the default system for GDM 3.16 which the reporter said the problem started with. This should probably be closed.

In case the reporter *is* still around you can see how to disable using Wayland for GDM completely if installing libinput etc does not work for you:
