in the uptimed pkgbuild, there are some cases of rewriting "spool" to "var" with the comment being:

"Change log path to Arch standard"

...this is imho wrong. we're not talking about logs here, there are actual uptime records in /var/spool/uptimed (now /var/log/uptimed). these are not appended to but modified in place, btw.
