In my case, gdm start up *only* with automatic logins enabled :/
In my case GDM (both previous 3.16.1-3 and current 3.16.1.1-1 at
least) will start with auto-login but login window does not get
presented after I log out, unless I disable auto-login and reboot
then the login window does get presented. See
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/44587#comment134498.
Yes, just tested, same for me, no login window after logout with
automatic login enabled.

Is this still an issue?
