Hi,

The Michigan Technological University, Linux/UNIX Users' Group has recently been upgraded to a 1G/s internet connection. (This resulted in having to change out IPv4 and IPv6 address which is while there was some downtime this week, those issues have been resolved.) We would like to apply to become a Tier 1 mirror. I've included the necessary information below. Let me know if you need anything else.

Mirror domain name: lug.mtu.edu
Geographical location of the mirror (country): Houghton, MI United States
URLs for supported access methods: http://lug.mtu.edu/archlinux/ , https://lug.mtu.edu/archlinux/ , rsync://lug.mtu.edu/archlinux/
Your mirror's available bandwidth: 1Gb/s
An administrative contact email: lug@mtu.edu
An alternative administrative contact email: lug-server-admins-l@mtu.edu
Rsync IPs so your server(s) can be allowed to sync off tier 0 (rsync.archlinux.org): IPv4: 141.219.84.84 , IPv6: 2001:48a8:11:97d::84:84

Thank you, I've updated you to tier 1. Please switch to one of the *_tier1 modules on "rsync://rsync.archlinux.org". You'll probably want "rsync://rsync.archlinux.org/ftp_tier1".

Hi Florian,

I've updated our scripts, thanks so much! I just have one last question, is there a system for push mirroring?

Thanks again,

No, we only provide rsync pull access, but there is a lastupdate file that will be changed when new packages (only packages right now, not isos or other stuff, but packages update pretty often anyway) are pushed and you can query that. I've got a script (also linked in our wiki) that does this and can be run every minute if you like.

Okay, thanks for the information Florian. I'll see about including a query for the lastupdate file within our syncing scripts.

Thanks,
