Totem-1.4.0-1 has no video output for wmv files. It tries to make a thumbnail for nautilus but ends up with just an icon instead. Sound output is ok.

well, gstreamer 0.10 doesn't support wmv 3/9 yet, it needs an dll loader.
not sure about previous wmv versions.

WMV9 would neet pitfdll, which doesn't work for 100% yet. older WMV versions work with the -ffmpeg plugin.

To be able to play WMV9 files, just install totem-xine, we don't supply two versions of it for nothing.

Yep, installed totem-xine and wmv files play fine and thumbnails work fine as well. However, the initial background loads very slowly (which is unusual but is it a bug?) and it crashes when I try to change the connection speed from the preferences panel. Running it from the terminal spits out no errors.

the background loading is due to xine, and the other one seems to be an bug.
