This task depends upon

"The fix is already in mainline, just hasn't been backported." - this should meanwhile be solved. Is it?

Sorry, as far as it was strong show stopper, I have switched to proprietary driver and can not estimate current nouveau state. There aren't votes/other affected users, so I guess the task can be closed.
