mit.edu is not a tier 1 mirror and not even an official mirror. I've contacted them about this, but I suggest you switch to a different upstream mirror (preferably a tier 1 mirror from this list https://www.archlinux.org/mirrors/).

I've added your mirror, but you are currently listed as untiered. Once you sync from a tier 1 mirror I'll bump that to tier 2.

I have changed the upstream provider of rsync to rsync://rsync.gtlib.gatech.edu/archlinux.
