This report was mainly made to reach an understanding or explanation not only
for my own curiosity but for the curiosity of others who are unfortunate enough
to install this particular package.

I'd like to know why this package is still included and thus what value it
provides.

If there is no particular attachment to it, can we see it fit to be removed
entirely?

Nv supports the riva128 where nouveau does not. Besides that there is no strong reason for this driver.

As long as it builds we can keep it. Once it will fail and isn't maintained anymore upstream we will drop it (to AUR).
