DetailsDescription:
I don't regularly use Wicd, but want to anyway keep it installed anyway, just in case the other network managers break and I need a working network manager with a decent GUI to quickly connect to some networks. Every time I start my system, wicd-gtk is running, and even opens an annoying popup complaining about being unable to talk to the wicd daemon. I'm manually removing /etc/xdg/autostart/wicd-tray.desktop, but this file gets recreated every time the package gets updated. Could you please stop including this file in the package? I don't think any package should autostart itself (this is not Debian!), especially a graphical package like wicd (yeah, I could maybe tolerate some daemons), because: - this cannot be permanently stopped (i.e. reinstalling/updating the package sets the autostart thing every time). - this affect every user of the system, and only root can stop it. - if the wicd daemon is not running, an useless and annoying popup opens up every time any user logs in. Thanks! |
