Details

The community/electrum PKGBUILD is missing the protobuf description file compilation step for BIP70 support, it is missing translation downloads, along with several new optional dependencies.

Not really.
Icons, protobuf and translations are already present in released tar, you only need to compile it manually if you use the git version.

For the optdepends the archlinux policy does not allow AUR optdepends, so I'll port the most "used" (btchip and zbar) optdepends on the next version of the PKGBUILD (2.0.2) and then I'll port the remaining depends later
