Description:

After installing Qt 5.4.1 there seem to be a lot of issues:

- unable to click on a favourite in launcher to start an application
- black panel when selecting logout/shutdown in Breeze

See forum thread for discussion

Additional info:
QT-base 5.4.1-2
Plasma 5.2.1-1

Steps to reproduce:

Install Plasma 5.2.1-1 and QT-base 5.4.1-2
Login in Plasma
Click on K launcher icon
see that bottom bar (Favourites, Applications, Computer, Recently Used, Leave) is not visible

Downgrade to Qt 5.2.0-4 removes problem

Have searched in QT forums but could not find reports from other users so not sure if this is upstream or a build / packaging issue.

You can see the black bars on the launcher on the left... and clicking does not start the app

Issue is not in Qt 5, but frameworks 5.7.0
All mentioned problems are gone with a frameworks 5.8.0 build, makes no difference if that is build on Qt 5.4.0 or Qt 5.4.1.
Frameworks 5.8.0 will be available for all (not just packagers as is now) this Tuesday.

Thanks Anke... I did wonder because KDE4 ran OK with QT 5.4.1 as I discovered yesterday.
