The kernel26 (but this holds also for kernel26archck and kernel26beyond) includes an arch boot logo, called logo_linux_clut224.ppm. However, this logo is not suitable for all depths. In particular, some fb drivers work with very low depths during the boot process: for example, radeonfb, which I use in the most part of my machines. In these cases, the arch boot logo is not used, and you see the plain old penguin.
Thus, I think that three boot logos corresponding in depth to the three default penguins should be included, in order to allow all the users to see the arch logo.

The archive with the three arch boot logos is in art.archlinux.org, but I attach it here for your convenience.
