DetailsDescription:
I upgraded linux-3.18.2-2 to 3.18.4-1 and re-booted. Afterwards there was no network connectivity. ip link showed only lo, no ethernet link. I then downgraded via sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/linux-3.18.2-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz, re-booted and the network works. Additional info: lspci -v shows 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Qualcomm Atheros AR8131 Gigabit Ethernet (rev c0) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Device 83fe Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 25 Memory at febc0000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256K] I/O ports at ec00 [size=128] Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel driver in use: atl1c Kernel modules: atl1c journalctl shows Jan 31 15:14:28 jc-arch systemd[1]: Job sys-subsystem-net-devices-enp2s0.device/start timed out. I don't know why but downgrading then upgrading again has fixed this problem.
