Description:
Konsole font selection is using the incorrect font after upgrading to 14.12.1 even though the correct font is selected, it is using "San Serif".

Additional info:
Konsole - 3.0.1 (KDE versioning)
KDE - 14.12.1

Steps to reproduce:
1. Upgrade to Konsole 14.12.1 (3.0.1)
2. Start typing.

Current Temp Solution:
1. Edit the current profile
2. "San Serif" will be selected as the font, however when you click to change the font Monospace is already selected.
3. Select any other font and apply it.
4. Go back and choose Monospace again and it resets back to normal.

I think this is happening in Konsole specifically so I have made a upstream bug as well. I talked to someone who experienced the same bug in Gentoo. I am just reporting this so you know.

Do you notice sometimes lags with konsolepart4 4.14.3-5 when typing some commands ?

I notice lags when konsole is running for the first time in kde session ( cold start ), I don't have this problem with konsolepart4 4.14.3-4

your bugreport is the same like  FS#43568

I dont use konsolepart4, I just use konsole. They share the same base though. I am not sure why your bug is displaying in the konsole bug reports rather than just in the konsolepart4 bugs like it should. The only reason I requested closure because it was displayed in the regular package. That is weird. I have commented to not close it because it could be a different bug for the speed.

I didn't notice any drastic speed issues in konsole though.

in fact I use also konsole, I said "konsolepart4" because the problem begins with the upgrade of the konsolepart4 package ( 4.14.3-4 to 4.14.3-5 )

but we talk about the same software: konsole

"konsolepart4" is just a package who brings config files, lib files for konsole, and for me the guilty is "konsolepart4 4.14.3-5", because if I downgrade this package then the "font bug" in konsole is gone

I don't think the problem is related to konsolepart4 because I do not have that package installed.

you can do a test :

- install this package konsolepart4 in 4.14.3-4 version( not 4.14.3-5 )

http://seblu.net/a/archive/packages/k/konsolepart4/

in my configuration with 4.14.3-4 there is no bug in konsole, but with 4.14.3-5 version of konsolepart4 I have the bug

konsolepart4 is an optional dependency for dolphin, it brings the contextual menu "open in a terminal"

@patrick I don't understand the point of the test you are suggesting. You are saying that you have the issue in konsolepart4, I am saying that I am receiving the same bug without even having konsolepart4 installed thus it is not related to the konsolepart4 package, it is just a konsole issue. Testing konsolepart4 at this point would be testing for no real purpose.

Uhm, I cannot reproduce it.
Try wiping the konsole configuration files ($HOME/.config/konsole* and $HOME/.local/share/konsole*).

@Andrea, my solution already solves the problem. It is a permanent fix but I labeled it as temporary just because it is a workaround and does not change any of the code. I think it only happens during the upgrade from the previous to current version of Konsole so since you already had that version it wouldn't display to you.

If you want to edit my report to reflect the fix is permanent please do so, I unfortunately can not update the report.

Confirm. In fact I had this on every KDE4 machine at which I ran those konsole updates (to version 14something, from KF5). Just today I did it again on a old test pc, which I had not updated for a month or so. Again: needed to reselect a font for the current profile in konsole, otherwise the cursor was cutting characters. At other machines I had whitespace between the last charcter and the cursor.
