Description:

Hi, yesterday i have update some apps (Kate, Kwrite along with others ..) on KDE4, i think this applications were move to the kf5 builds. Well ... i have noticed that Kwrite and Kate Automatic Spell Checking doesn't works.( Menu-->Tools-->Automatic Spell Checking). I have also enable on Kate: Menu -->Preferences-->Edition-->Check Spelling-->Automatic Spell Checking enabled by default.

Input a text plain on Kate and Kwrite and the option Automatic Spell Checking doesn't works.

It works here with hunspell, but not with aspell

Thanks for your reply Antonio, I also have installed hunspell and hunspell-es .. but not result. Curiously Kmail Spell Checking works fine. I try delete config files(~/.) and reinstall kate and kwrite but not result. Now i have installed aspell, aspell-es, hunspell, hunspell-es (required by libreoffice-fresh). Before the update Spell Checking on kate and kwrite works fine ..

I can confirm it. Output from the console. It seems the majority of KDE5 applications are broken and not ready for an everyday usage desktop system.

From the upstream bug it sounds like there's a workaround in place with a proper fix coming soon.
