Description:
On some boards tv tuner may be separate from fm tuner, but bttv/ivtv will not allow use of fm tuner once tv tuner has been used at least once after boot.

Additional info:
Sometimes even xawtv complains about not being able to use tuner.
The error message in either /dev/radiox or /dev/videox is that the device is already in use, when it isn't being used by anything simultaneously or otherwise.

Steps to reproduce:
Boot fresh.
Run ivtv-radio or radio (from xawtv), and find that it works from fresh.
Then run xawtv or mplayer or vlc and use the tv tuner.
Try to use radio application after tv application is closed, and /dev/radiox: device already in use.
This task depends upon

It seems that the ivtv also doesn't want to switch inputs either.

When I rmmod -f ivtv_alsa, and rmmod ivtv, then modprobe ivtv, access to radio then results in /dev/radio0: Permission denied.

Removing all modules related to ivtv, and modprobe ivtv restores radio. See if I can isolate problem module(s).

is this issue still valid?

This particular problem has possibly gone away, I'll have to check to see whether I'm using ivtv, still using bttv I think.
I'm not sure how often the bttv/ivtv is changed in the kernel tree, but currently, I can get radio audio, but no tv audio.
I don't know why this seems to work in one kernel and then quit in another kernel. Don't think they'd change it all that often.
