Description:
Since the upgrade from gtk3-3.14.5-1 to gtk3-3.14.6-1
pasting something from the clipboard is broken in gedit
when using the <SHIFT>+<INSERT> shortcut.
The result is as if i would had paste the content twice.
Downgrading to gtk3-3.14.5-1 solves the issue.

Additional info:
* Package versions: gtk3-3.14.6-1 and gedit-3.14.1-1

Steps to reproduce:
* Have both packages installed in the versions as indicated above
* open gedit
* Type some text, e.g. "oh no"
* select text and copy it via context dialog (right click) or <Ctrl>+<C> shortcut
* press shortcut <SHIFT>+<INSERT>

Result: Instead of the expected text "oh no" to be pasted, "oh nooh no" is pasted.

Could be this commit:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/gtk+/commit/?h=gtk-3-14&id=28c39fb0f84487c7d6f671a1c66cd876d8c6da9f

You probably use insert from the keypad, if you had any workarounds active to make that work they provide you with duplicate copy/cut/paste events now.

No i don't. Using INSERT from keypad does not paste anything using any of the version mentioned above.

I was having the same issue, although hadn't noticed it in gedit, but in gnome-terminal. Since not too long ago it stopped pasting with shift+insert and it was driving me crazy. Last night I was trying to add a specific shortcut for shift+insert to paste, and ended up messing with other key bindings, at which point I just deleted some of the gnome configuration files to reset it, and to my surprise, when I logged in again it was pasting with shift+insert normally.

I also just tested whether this could be a BUG related to some messed up configuration files. I created a fresh new user account, logged in and started gedit. But the problem still remains. So i think this is something different than what you observed.
