Description:
Linux 3.18 seems to break GPU acceleration on my Atom netbook (945GSE chipset). The following lines in Xorg.log.0 appear to be relevant: [ 16.088] (WW) intel(0): Failed to submit rendering commands, trying again with outputs disabled. [ 16.371] (EE) intel(0): Failed to submit rendering commands, disabling acceleration. This has been reported on the forums by two other people [1]. I tested the following upstream patch and it fixes the issue for me (found it via [2], patch also attached): http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=d472fcc8379c062bd56a3876fc6ef22258f14a91 [1] https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1485146 [2] https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76554#c116 Additional info: * package version(s): linux 3.18.1-1 |

The issue still exists in linux 3.18.2-1; please consider applying
the patch before moving Linux 3.18 to [core].
