Most of applications have updated to gstreamer-0.10.x, I think simply following normal package name and version could be better, so we don't need to do "provide" alike when 1.0 is finally out.
A few applications don't update to gstreame 0.10 could provide gstreamer0.8, since it's quite shorter list.

Additional comments about closing:  This is on purpose. Some applications are still not usable with GStreamer 0.10 (Amarok, goobox?). Both are parallel installable, so there's nothing wrong with having two of these.

well it was easier to build gstreamer0.10 and rebuild gnome against that...
most of gnome uses it....
