gnome-disk-utility is not supposed to be run as root anyways, but if you want to have this fixed you should provide backtraces.

Can't reproduce your bug here, but looking at the warnings in your terminal, this is triggered by a 3rd party theme.

I logged to XFCE as root and I could run gnome-disks like 15 times without any problem. Problem occurs when I log to XFCE as regular user, then switch to root in console using su and run gnome-disks.

I can't reproduce the bug: appending or not sudo gnome-disks starts without problem
* gnome-disk-utility-3.14.0-1
* gtk3-3.14.5-1

gnome-disk-utility isn't supposed to be run as root, it doesn't come with polkit authorization stuff for nothing.

Anyways, this is caused by a buggy theme, I can't reproduce it on the default adwaita theme shipped with GNOME, so I don't think it's a bug in gtk or gnome-disk-utility.

It seems like I have more problems of this type on my arch installation (recently psensors closed also with segmentation-fault).
