Description:

After upgrading to kernel version 3.17, the screen has a persistent purple vertical line on the left, and the display looks blurred. Before upgrading, the purple line only shows for less than 1 minute and then the screen automatically readjusted before showing the GNOME desktop login screen.

This issue only appears after upgrading to 3.17. I also tested the LTS kernel (which is 3.13), everything works perfectly.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
3.17.2-1

* config and/or log files etc.
mkinitcpio.conf is attached.

Steps to reproduce:
Boot as usual with the latest kernel.
