Details

Since recently updating, fonts in X applications (both GTK and Qt) use 96dpi rather than the Xorg value of 125 as set by DisplaySize.
xdpyinfo shows that this value is set correctly:
"screen #0:
dimensions: 1280x800 pixels (260x163 millimeters)
resolution: 125x125 dots per inch"

KDE's setting 'Force fonts DPI' was disabled; setting it to 125 and enabling it works for subsequently-started applications but does not persist after restarting the X server; in that case it continues to show 'enabled' at 125dpi, but must be disabled and re-enabled before actually taking effect.

This was working correctly and as expected until rebooting a few minutes ago; I updated quite a few packages having been away for part of the week, and don't have time just now to try rolling individual ones back.

Using Xmonad, but with
DE="kde"
KDE_FULL_SESSION=1
KDE_SESSION_VERSION=4
(mostly because of the Qt5 theming bug).

I have no idea where to assign this. Do you have any idea where the problem might be?
