Description:

The pidgin-sipe package has a native telepathy backend that is incomplete according to its developer. It should be disabled to so that telepathy-haze can be used in its place. It can be disabled with --disable-telepathy.

OK thanks I'll have a look into this. That info was written on 2013-03-30 so I wonder if things have improved since then as we don't specifically enable this option; it must be the default. Is there something that doesn't work that does work when compiled with telepathy-haze?

There hasn't been much activity on the telepathy side with pidgin-sipe, so it is most likely in the same state. (http://repo.or.cz/w/siplcs.git/history/mob:/src/telepathy) It doesn't get compiled with telepathy-haze but allows telepathy-haze to work when the native telepathy backend is disabled. Specifically what doesn't work for me is the ability to use empathy with pigin-sipe to connect to lync.
