Description: After Gnome-3.14 update, I'm unable to type extended ASCII characters (specifically "µ", but true for others) using the number keys at the top of the standard US keyboard. Entry works as expected using the 10 key to the right of the keyboard.

Additional info:
This is post Gnome-3.14 update, too many updated packages to list and unable to determine where this functionality is located. I would expect this to be in gtk3, but am unsure. I haven't had time to test on other distro to determine whether this is a bug in (presumably) gtk3 or an Arch bug.

Here is output of locale commands, not sure what else is needed for troubleshooting:

[dj@DJARCH1 ~]$ locale -a
C
en_US.utf8
POSIX
[dj@DJARCH1 ~]$ locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

Steps to reproduce:

Match locale settings above, open Gnome Terminal, press and hold Ctrl+Shift keys and type ub5 and release Ctrl+shift. While typing, you should see the "uB5" until release, instead you will first see "uB" and when pressing 5, it will change to "%uB". Repeat the same steps using the '5' key on the numeric keypad and you will get the expected result ('µ').

Reason for closing:  Not a bug

Try releasing Shift (but keeping Ctrl held down) while typing the code.

This appears to be limited to one machine. I am unable to reproduce the issue on another Arch box. While I'd like to troubleshoot further, I've enough junk laying around the filesystem that it's probably time for a reload anyway. I'll test it out on a fresh install on same hardware and see where we are, but probably safe to close this. Sorry for the noise.

Try going to the region and language settings and doing a dance with the input sources (Add a random source, remove all but the random one, readd your proper ones, remove the random one).

I can't reproduce the bug
* vte3-0.38.2-1
* gnome-terminal-3.14.2-1
NB: I'm on KDE, so without any other GNOME deps

As stated earlier, I think I jumped the gun on reporting this as a bug. heftig likely provided a working solution, but I was too quick to reload the box. Requesting closure.
