DetailsDescription:
The update to 33.0-2 (package change from -1) requires 'icu' to be upgraded to 54.1-1 however it's not a hard dependency; upgrading only firefox renders it non-op until icu is also upgraded. Once 'icu' is upgraded firefox starts just fine. (the same happened to chromium as well) Additional info: # upgrade firefox from 33.0-1 - 'icu' is not required, upgrade works pacman -S firefox # fails to start $ firefox XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/lib/firefox/libxul.so: libicui18n.so.54: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Couldn't load XPCOM. # check libs $ ldd /usr/lib/firefox/libxul.so [...] libicui18n.so.54 => not found libicuuc.so.54 => not found # older version still installed $ pacman -Qo /usr/lib/libicui18n.so.53 /usr/lib/libicui18n.so.53 is owned by icu 53.1-1 |
