Description:
When updating its database, shotwell hangs forever...

Steps to reproduce:
- rm -fr ~/.local/share/shotwell
- Run shotwell (with autoupdate on image dir)

I had the same problem. According to the Shotwell developers, it is related to gstreamer:

However, after upgrading to gnome 3.14.1, it hangs again

What do you mean by rebuilding?
