Please be explicit what kind of files are unrecognized by mpd-0.91.
$ systemctl status mpd # gives me the same output.

I have tracked down this bug to a specific commit. Upstream bug report: http://bugs.musicpd.org/view.php?id=4145

$ pacman -Q mpd
mpd 0.19.9-2
The systemd warnings are normal: we ship upstream's service file and they use variables deprecated in recent systemd. This is harmless.
Any other issue should be reported in a bug report of its own.
