Description:

SystemD configuration files need to be fixed. As for now, cgps will timeout trying to connect to GPSD.

Comment:
Hey, sorry to raise a new bug alert on this package.

Regarding your previous comment, I agree that maintaining configuration files different from the GPSD team is a hassle.
However, using those provided with the package, cgps (a simple command line tool to check that GPSD is correctly set up and the GPS receiver is feeding information) issues a timeout when trying to reach GPSD.

I've linked my configuration files (it's working as intended) in case you want to take a look at it. I wouldn't consider them to be release-grade as I know little about the subtleties of SystemD. There is also a -D8 option set (maximum debug) in gpsd.conf that needs to be removed before shipping it.

If you need more information on what I did to make it work, i.e. changes to configuration files, feel free to contact me back.

Regards,

Quentin

Regarding the denial for re-opening this case, I don't understand your reasoning. You're stating that ArchLinux ARM is a different project, yet the issue is not specific to the ARM architecture. The package shipped with Archlinux (Non-ARM) contains the exact same configuration files so why would you close it with such little explanation.

Quentin
