Detailsgood day! :-)
in some linux-distributives the package "hostapd" builds with patch "noscan.patch". for example: Fedora: https://fedorapeople.org/~nucleo/rpms/hostapd/hostapd-2.3-noscan.patch Openwrt: https://dev.openwrt.org/browser/trunk/package/network/services/hostapd/patches/300-noscan.patch this path need for switch on 150Mb/s WiFi (40MHz mode) without check other neighbor bss. (*all* commercial home WiFi-routers (SOHO WiFi-routers) -- *not* use check for neighbor bss. they are switching on 40MHz -- always). see: http://www.brunsware.de/blog/gentoo/hostapd-40mhz-disable-neighbor-check.html ************************************************** please! include patch ( https://fedorapeople.org/~nucleo/rpms/hostapd/hostapd-2.3-noscan.patch ) to Archlinux's hostapd too! :) thanks in advance! ..(sorry for my bad english) |

hostapd-2.3-noscan.patch
no. upstream not applied this patch. only in distributives.
upstream of "hostapd" -- not want to disrupt the standard (IEEE-802.11...).
> Arch tries to stay as close to upstream as possible.
yes. I agree to this!
if this patch will be applied to Archlinux -- it is will be good decision (because: WiFi speed increasing: from 75Mb/s to 150Mb/s).
if this patch will *not* be applied to Archlinux -- it is *also* will be *good* decision (because: it is will be *fairly* to the principles of Archlinux).
