Description:
The 'patch' package is not mentioned as a dependency for pacman, although it is needed for some PKGBUILDs and thus by makepkg.
It might even be considered as a feature of PKGBUILDs and thus makepkg misses at least an optional dependency.
This is probably related to https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/40464?project=1&cat[0]=31&string=pacman
