Currently upower is a hard dependency of xfce4-session. However, the latter uses logind for quite some time now. No binary/lib from xfce4-session links against libupower.so and simply force-removing upower doesn't affect shutdown/suspend/hibernate functionality.

So, is it possible to downgrade upower to be an optional or a non-dependency?

Note, that extra/xfce4-power-manager may still require upower, but is not related/required for running xfce4-session.

Thanks.
