I just pushed geary 0.8.1 in [community], but I doubt it will fix your issue. KDE/geary is kind of a weird combination to begin with, I have no idea why it doesn't start for you. Also all your terminal output except maybe the first line looks completely unrelated to geary. You should take it upstream, they have an IRC channel (#geary on irc.gimp.org) and a bug tracker (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=geary).

I have installed and tried geary 0.8.1, and as you said it did not fix the issue. Well, it has worked fine in the past. I will try on Gnome and other DEs and see what happens.

I suspected it might be a packaging issue, beacuse:
- It has worked on KDE in the past, without problems
- The problem persisted even after purging and re-installing Geary
- I removed all user configuration files that Geary was attempting to open, to see if bad configuration was an issue
- Given the above, if not a packaging problem, it would seem that this was a widespread issue that should affect others as well. But, AFAIK there's no widespread issue in the code that prevents it from working on other distributions.

I will test geary on other DEs, look around on the Arch forums and see if anyone else faces this problem, and will also ask geary developers.

It seems that I have a similar problem within Gnome. After my first Geary
configuration the gui sometimes disapears. When I relaunch geary sometimes the
is visible but it doesn't show any mails (just the spinner is running).

There is a bug in current geary package due to change in libgee

But rebuilding fail... Seems geary not compatible with last libgee...

Geary rebuilds just fine, I just pushed 0.8.1-2 in [community]. 0.8.1-1 wouldn't launch for me this morning, rebuilding fixed it.
