Using the -DKDE_INSTALL_USE_QT_SYS_PATHS=ON to specify the qt plugins dir when compiling kauth produces a broken package that can't load the backend [1]. Apparently kauth expects a relative path for the plugins, but -DKDE_INSTALL_USE_QT_SYS_PATHS gives absolute paths. Please readd -DQT_PLUGIN_INSTALL_DIR=lib/qt/plugins until this is fixed upstream.
