I think it may have something to do with the compilation process. I manually downloaded, compiled and installed wmii-3.9.2-3 and I still can't resize columns with the mouse. Additionally, the only things that have really changed between 3.9.2-3 and 3.9.2-4 are the compiler, its tools, and any shared libraries.
I have gcc-multilib-4.9.1-2.

Cannot reproduce on fresh system and Xnest. Does it work for you now?

I've since migrated to wmii-hg from the AUR, but I reinstalled wmii 3.9.2-4 to test this and I'm no longer experiencing the issue. Stock kernel version 3.19.3-3, x64.
