Description:

Linking of /usr/share/sidplayfp/{kernal,basic,chargen} was removed from the packaging in this commit:

I'm not sure the basis of the "vice support seems dropped" comment since the setRoms() function is still present and still works fine in 1.5.2:

Technically the library won't access the files under /usr/share/sidplayfp, but the sidplayfp command-line program and Audacious both expect the files at that location, so it's useful to have the symbolic links.
