Description:

When trying to sample music on Amazon, the play buttons cannot be selected to initiate playback. On Chromium, it works, however.

Additional info:
firefox-31.0-1 x86_64

Here is a sample page to try that illustrates the problem:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LBUMNDK/ref=s9_simh_gw_p340_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=01FPEP648ET3HJT7Z0RV&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200382&pf_rd_i=507846

Steps to reproduce:
Navigate to a page that has mp3 samples and try to listen to them.

Actual results:
The button is dead.

Expected results:
Playback should commence.

This has not been working for a few weeks, but it used to work. I cannot indicate when, exactly, the error was introduced.

I don't have the bug,

please try with a new firefox profile by running "firefox -p" in a console,

check if you have faulty firefox extensions, the culprit is often a firefox extension, or a missing plugin

I tried disabling all addons and a new profile. They still don't play properly unfortunately.

maybe you have to install some packages related to gstreamer, in order to enable the audio/video playback in firefox :

Works fine here. gstreamer issue would be my guess as well. Any error output when running firefox from a terminal emulator?

Gstreamer0.10 and its base plugins are already installed. It worked as expected before, so I am doubting it is a missing plugin as I haven't removed any. Just for accuracy's sake, is there one in particular that I should install?

gstreamer0.10 won't help you, you need gstreamer 1.xx. This is something that has changed fairly recently, it used to use 0.10.

GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed

This is what I get when launching from terminal.

Installing gstreamer 1.40 and its base plugins doesn't appear to fix this either.

I compiled Firefox from source with debug symbols and ran it from terminal. I get the GLib error and this when trying to play a sample: Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_i965.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I checked and libvdpau is already installed, so I'm not sure why this file is missing.

The latest firefox 32.0.1 and system updates have resolved this for me. Thanks guys!
