DetailsCalibre (20.0-1, from [community]) doesn't recognize my Kindle Paperwhite "out of the box", and the "debug detection" log attached clearly states that the problem was caused by the lack of udisks. Installing it solves the problem. As an aside, mounting the Kindle went fine, with or without udisks.
The solution is trivial: adding udisks to Calibre's dependencies. |

Since it's only needed for some devices, an optdep would probably be more appropriate.
