No matter the settings in xfce4-power-manager the screen will go blank after a while, this seems to be related to launchpad bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-power-manager/+bug/1193716. And xfce4-power-manager not controlling the relevant DPMS settings.

This should (as far as I can see) be included in the latest release upstream, as it was fixed in the following commits:

http://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-power-manager/commit/?id=7dd51ceaa91ecba72154dd15ecca6ddd7f33b120
http://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-power-manager/commit/?id=e07fd9b7571c53bc4dbf3ed77915047cb4a0f3e2

The current solution involves manually running:
$ xset -dpms
$ xset s off

whenever they have been reset.

I at least cannot see these settings in xfce4-power-manager v1.2.0.
