by default the linux package is not configured to generate crash dump file when a kernel panic occurs, because the "CONFIG_CRASH_DUMP" is not set in config.x86_64 file, it's a pity because the others distros like ubuntu have the package for generating a crash dump : https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/serverguide/kernel-crash-dump.html it would be great if an archlinux package could provide this feature ( a kernel with CONFIG_CRASH_DUMP set to yes ) Additional info: * package version(s) * config and/or log files etc. Steps to reproduce: |

FS#16895, but since that's 5 years old, I'm not just closing this out of hand. The maintainers can do that if they want.
