Details
If I want to use ccache but *not* distcc for a makepkg
build, makepkg still runs distcc.
In makepkg, if ccache is selected then PATH has the ccache "symlinks" directory prepended to it: [[ -d /usr/lib/ccache/bin ]] && export PATH="/usr/lib/ccache/bin:$PATH" Following upstream distcc instructions/best practice guide[1], I have CCACHE_PREFIX="distcc" set. As a result of that, ccache *always* calls distcc. This could be fixed in makepkg by adding an "else" statement on the distcc enable bit just above this, to unset CCACHE_PREFIX (or s/distcc// , whatever) if distcc is not selected.
