DetailsDescription: when an event occur, VLC shows a popup by default if it's minimized in tray area. Sadly, the popup is in Windows XP style instead of native/notify-osd style. There's a way to enable that in VLC's preferences but seems isn't enabled in current build.
REF: http://askubuntu.com/questions/412995/how-to-enable-notify-osd-for-vlc In that image you can see there are more options that in my VLC pref list http://i.imgur.com/kQQZ4nG.png Specifically, LibNotify Notification Plugin is missing. Additional info: * package version(s) vlc 2.1.5-1 * config and/or log files etc. Steps to reproduce: open some files on VLC, reduce it to tray and change track. Windows XP style popup should appear. |
This task depends upon
--enable-notify libnotify notification [default=auto]
